Lady Raiders Beat Broome Hornets

FM hosted the Broome Community College Hornets and dominated the contest.  The Lady Raiders topped the Hornets 92-44.

FM and Broome battled the entire 1st quarter.  Moet Jenkins led the FM offense to a 12-6 lead and My'eesa Grant followed with two points off of an FM steal.  Broome sank a three pointer to end the quarter trailing 17-3. The Lady Raiders started the 2nd quarter with an offensive surge, that was backed behind their full court pressure.  Amirah Greene and McKiea Weekes extended the FM lead 21-15.  Julie Hampton converted on a layup off of a defensive steal and Miranda Nethaway closed out the quarter with an offensive rebound put back.  FM headed to the locker room with a 15 point lead, 40-25.

The Lady Raiders dominated the 3rd quarter with a 15-3 run to extend the lead 56-27.  The Hornets were only able to manage six points in the quarter as the Raiders finished with a 60-31 lead heading into the final quarter.  FM was able to maintain the lead throughout the 4th quarter and go on to win 92-44.

Fourteen different Lady Raiders scored in the game, with four in double digits.  My'eesa Grant led all scorers with 13, followed by 11 from Amirah Greene and Shantel AcevedoMoet Jenkins had a double double with 10 assists and 10 points.

Broome's Sam Acuna led with 11 points.

The Lady Raiders move to 3-0 on the young season and will travel to Cayuga Community College on Wednesday, November 9th.  Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
