Hampton Leads FM to Victory

The women's basketball squad hosted the Adirondack Timberwolves in a Mountain Valley Conference Match-up.  FM bounced back off of their loss against Onondaga and got back to business with an 83-42 win.

FM's Julie Hampton led the Lady Raiders all game with 22 points, including four three pointers, four steals and three assists.  My'eesa Grant followed with 16 points, Kaina Martinez and Ryle Smith also scored in double figures with 10 each.

Adirondack jumped out to a 12-8 lead in the 1st quarter.  FM regained the lead when Kaina Martinez came off of the bench and hit a three from the corner to put her team ahead 17-16.  The Raiders closed out the quarter leading 20-17.  In the 2nd quarter Julie Hampton took control on the defensive and offensive end.   Hampton sparked an 8-0 FM run and scored 9 2nd quarter points as FM closed out the half leading 39-24.

The second half was all FM as they extended their lead 59-31 at the end of the third quarter.  Hampton scored another nine points in the final quarter from behind the three point arc.  Sabriana Franck scored FM's final five points to secure the win, 83-42.

FM will host Jefferson Community College tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
