Women's Basketball Victorious on the Road

The women's basketball team traveled to Clinton CC on Sunday and then traveled to Herkimer on Monday for another conference contest.  The Lady Raiders came out on top in both contests, and move to 16-5 on the season.

FM defeated the Clinton Cougars 64-74 behind a monster game from My'eesa Grant who had 27 points and 20 rebounds.  FM led 18-9 after the first quarter and maintained the lead 38-25 heading into halftime.  Clinton outscored the Lady Raiders in the 3rd quarter, but it wasn't enough as FM went on to win 74-64 on the road.  Kaina Martinez had 14 points and Rylie Smith chipped in with 13. 

On Monday, the Lady Raiders made a quick turnaround for another contest against the Herkimer Generals.   FM jumped out to a 23-18 1st quarter lead behind 12 points from My'essa Grant.  Ryle Smith extended the FM lead to 46-32 after the 2nd quarter.  Grant had 13 first half points and Smith followed with 12.

The Lady Raiders continued to dominate in the second half as they extended their lead to 71-54 with ten minutes remaining in the contest, and were able to close out for an 89-69 win.  Shantel Acevedo had a big night on the boards for FM with 14 rebounds and 9 points.  Smith and Grant each had 21 points and Kaina Martinez followed with 15. 

The Raiders move to 16-5 on the season and have three regular season games remaining.  They will host Hudson Valley on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
