Women's Basketball Victorious on Senior Day

The Lady Raiders dominated on Senior Day and what would be the last regular season contest.  FM hosted Columbia-Greene and finished out the regular season 18-6 after a 76-57 win to finish out the regular season against the Twins.

FM honored its seven seniors after the contest for their commitment as student-athletes at Fulton Montgomery.  The seven seniors included; Rylie Smith, Moet Jenkins, Kaina Martinez, Shantel Acevedo, Karizma Fleurimond, My'eesa Grant and Miranda Nethaway.

Columbia-Greene put up a fight in the first quarter as they only trailed FM 24-15.  It didn't take long for the Lady Raiders to wear out the Twins as they closed out the half leading 43-25.  Karizma Fleurimond got the offense rolling in the 3rd quarter as the Raiders outscored the Twins 22-14 to extend their lead to 61-33.  Columbia-Greene outscored FM in the final quarter 18-11, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Raiders held on for their 18th victory of the season.

Rylie Smith paced FM with 20 points and 11 rebounds.  Kaina Martinez followed with 17 points and 8 assists and Shantel Acevedo pulled down 10 rebounds and scored 9 points.

FM looks to make a run in the postseason regional tournament, and have the weapons to do it.  My'eesa Grant is currently ranked 7th in the region with 17.1 points per game, and 2nd in the region in rebounds with 14.7 per game.  Moet Jenkins is the floor general and is ranked 2nd in the region in assists, with 6.6 per game.  Rylie Smith is the sharp shooter from beyond the arc with 36 threes on the season.  The Lady Raiders will head into the Regional Tournament as the 4th or 5th seed and will most likely play the Corning Red Barons Tuesday, February 28th
