Women's Basketball Beats Schenectady

The women's basketball team hosted the Schenectady Royals on Tuesday night.  FM came out on top with a 60-45 victory.  FM's Julie Hampton led all scorers with 17 points.

The Lady Raiders jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter.  Shaun Smith sparked an 8-3 run to end the quarter leading 14-5.  Diasia DeBoue led the Raiders with 5 points to start the 2nd quarter.  FM's defense held the Royals to just five points in the quarter and the Raiders led 32-12 at the half.

Shelby Dopp propelled the Raiders to a 52-28, 3rd quarter lead with 8 points in the quarter.  The Royals cut the FM lead to 14 points with 4 minutes remaining in the game behind sharp shooting from Schenectady's Taylor Lupi.  The Raiders closed out the game with a 60-45 victory.

Diasia DeBoue finished with 15 points for FM and Shaun Smith followed with 10. 

FM's next contest will be Sunday, December 3rd when they travel to take on the Broome Hornets.
