The women's basketball team defeated Schenectady Community College on the road on Wednesday evening, 61-53.  The Lady Raiders jumped out to a 30-28 halftime lead.  In the third quarter both teams traded baskets and FM led 42-39.  The Raiders outscored the Royals 19-14 in the final quarter to earn the win.

Diasia DeBoue led the Raiders with 20 points and 6 assists and Julie Hampton had 15 points.  McKiea Weekes finished with 12 points and 14 rebounds and Asia Cruz had a breakout game with 10 points.

The victory marked Head Coach Kevin Jones' 400th win in his career. Coach Jones has been at the helm for the past 20 seasons and has been the only women's basketball coach since its inception in 1998. Jones has led the program to two national tournaments, seven Region III final appearances, and six Mountain Valley Conference Championships.  He has earned conference coach of the year twice and Region III coach of the year three times.

"I am in my 20th season and it's more about the wins off of the court more than anything.  Those mean the most to me.  Hopefully we can get some more wins and make a run at the Regional tournament," said Jones.

FM will host Cayuga CC on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. tip time.
