The women's basketball team moves on to the Region 3 semi-finals with a victory over Tomkins Cortland on Tuesday night. After 10 lead changes, the Lady Raiders were able to secure a 74-65 win.
FM trailed 13-12 after the first quarter, but Niaimani Marshall erupted for 10 second quarter points to take the lead 32-27.
Tompkins Cortland tied the game at 34 with 7 minutes left in the third quarter. DiAsia DeBoue put FM in front 49-48, but TC3 closed out the quarter leading 52-49.
Barbara-Inez McKinney grabbed a big offensive rebound and DeBoue drilled a three to put the Raiders up 63-57. With one minute remaining, DeBoue sank another three to put the game out of reach and led 68-61.
DeBoue led with 27 points, 7 assists, 6 steals and 8 rebounds. Marshall followed with 26 points, 8 assists, and 5 steals. McKiea Weekes finished with 11 points and 15 rebounds. All three players played all 40 minutes in the contest.
Shelby Dopp had 6 points and Mallory Baldwin with 4 to round out the scoring for FM.
The Lady Raiders will move on to the Final Four this weekend, hosted by Onondaga Community College. FM will play the #3 seeded North Country Community College Saints on Saturday, March 2nd.
