The women's basketball team finished their 2022 regular season on Wednesday night. The Lady Raiders defeated the Hudson Valley Vikings by forfeit, 2-0.
Harmony Philo sank back to back threes to start the contest and FM was up, 8-2. Hudson Valley opened up the 2nd quarter on a 13-3 run and tied the game at 23. Sarah Emanuel-Norwood paced the Raiders in the first half with 12 points, and FM led 32-31 at the half.
In the 3rd quarter, playing with just six players, Hudson Valley got into some foul trouble. FM led 49-41 with 4 minutes remaining in the quarter, when the Vikings had to forfeit due to injuries and not enough players.
Prior to the forfeit, Harmony Philo had 15, Kiarra Kennedy with 14 and Sarah Emanuel-Norwood finished with 12 points.
Prior to the contest, FMCC honored their sophomores; Kiarra Kennedy, Harmony Philo, Katie LaGrange, Katie Hastings, and Djenaba Ndiaye.
The Lady Raiders now prepare for the Region 3 post-season tournament. The sub-regional round will begin on Saturday, February 19th.
