The women's basketball team wasted no time on Thursday night to get their second win of the season. The Lady Raiders hosted the Herkimer Generals in a Mountain Valley Conference match-up.
FMCC opened the game on a 7-0 run. Herkimer scored five straight points to cut the deficit, 11-8. Abigail Lombardoni scored 7 points for FM to end the quarter leading, 22-12.
In the second quarter, the Lady Raiders outscored the Generals, 30 to 18 and the home squad led, 52-30 at the half.
Kiya Marquez led the offensive attack in the 3rd quarter. Shanna Bliss got her first score of the season and the Raiders led 72-50 at the end of 30 minutes.
Herkimer was able to cut the deficit to 18 points in the 4th quarter, but FMCC was too much to handle and secured the 92-72 victory.
Marquez had a double-double with 22 points and 10 assists. Abigail Lombardoni tallied a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Andie Gannon also collected 16 points and 11 rebounds. Sarah Emanuel-Norwood had 16 points and 5 assists and Kendra Lavery finished with 12 points.
The Lady Raiders will host the Hawks from Mohawk Valley on Saturday, November 19th at 1:00 p.m.
