Lady Raiders Victorious Over Mohawk Valley

The Lady Raiders move to 3-0 on the season with a 67-47 victory of Mohawk Valley on Saturday afternoon. FMCC used a balanced attack with four different players in double-figures to secure the Mountain Valley Conference victory.

In the 1st quarter, the Hawks jumped out to a 5-0 lead to open the game. Abigail Lombardoni sank a three pointer to take the lead, 9-7. Both teams closed out the first quarter tied at 12 apiece.

In the 2nd quarter, Kiya Marquez and Lombardoni both converted on three pointers to give the Raiders a 23-17 cushion. The Hawks utilized offensive rebounds to stay in the contest and only trailed 30-27 at the break.

In the second half, The Lady Raiders opened on a 6-0 run. The home defense was able to hold the hawks to just 8 points in the quarter and FMCC led 49-25. In the final ten minutes of the game, Andie Gannon and Marquez fueled the offense and kept the Hawks off the boards.

Marquez had 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Lombardoni had 13 points and Gannon collected a double-double with 12 points, 19 rebounds and 7 steals. Sarah Emanuel-Norwood notched 12 points.

The Lady Raiders will now have two weeks off before their next contest. They will next play North Country on the road on December 5th.
