The Lady Raiders women’s basketball program is in its 24th year. Kevin Jones has been at its helm since the program’s inception.

During his tenure as Head Coach, Jones has established Fulton-Montgomery as a national power in women’s basketball, posting a 491-213 (.697) record and making 14 of 17 regional tournament appearances and the national tournament appearances.

The 2023 season was one for the record books under the leadership of Jones. The Lady Raiders finished Region 3 play with an undefeated 21-0 record. They were crowned Region 3 Champions and Mountain Valley Conference Champions. They finished the season with a 22-2 record and a 6th place finish at the National Tournament. 

The 2023 team had four players earn all-conference honors and three players selected to the all-region team. 

The program’s accomplishments include:

5 Region III runner-up finishes (2000, 2002, 2003, 2011, 2014)

6 Mountain Valley Conference championships

8 NJCAA All-Americans

Coach Jones as a player:

A former FMCC Raider point guard who moved on to Alfred University, Jones led the Saxons to an NCAA appearance in his first season as a player. Jones was a national leader in assists while at AU and still ranks very high in career assists and single-season assists. He played high school basketball at nearby Broadalbin. 

Coach Jones resides in Gloversville with his wife Susan and their two children, Anderson and Madeleine.
