First Set

The two teams went head to head for the first set of action.  Jenna Putnam dropped in a nice hit and Carly Howe finished with a kill to go up 4-2.  After a time out by Adirondack the set went back and forth with neither team making a run.  The Raiders strung together a solid streak and were able to end the set with a Carly Howe kill and a score of 25-23.

Second Set

The set found the teams in a similar position that they were in the first set: two competitive teams going point for point.  Carly Howe and Jenna Putnam lead the way for the raiders with blocking and kills.  The Raiders pulled out the win with a score of 25-23.

Third Set

FM dominated this set and realed off 8 straight points to make it 16-4 before Adirondack scored again.  The raiders showed solid defense and rally play and secured the win 25-13.

Head Coach Rachael Salvione is content with the way her team has been playing.  "This is the official start to our 2015 regular season play and I could not be more proud of how the girls came out and played. We are setting the bar high.  We are now focusing on our next pod match against Niagara, Jamestown and Erie Community College, who always prove to be very tough competitors."  Their first match on Saturday, September 12th will be against non-conference foe Erie Community College.
