Lady Raiders Volleyball Prepares for Regionals

The Lady Raiders have completed regular-season play and are preparing for the Region 3 championship tournament. FM represents the Mohawk Valley Conference in regionals as the 7th seed. There are 8 volleyball teams that will compete for the tournament crown. Niagara CC is the tournament host.  The eight teams will open the 2015 Region III Tournament with Pool Play on Saturday, October 31st.  There will be two pools competing on Saturday and the top two teams from each pool will move on to the semifinals on Sunday. Following the semifinals the two final teams will matchup in the Region III Championship.

FM is in pool B along with Jefferson (3), Onondaga (6), and Genesee (2).

Pool A consists of Monroe (1), Jamestown (4), Corning (5) and Fingerlakes (8).

FM's women have been awarded the seventh overall seed and will play second-seeded Genesee CC on Saturday.  The Raiders will also compete against fifth-seeded Jefferson and sixth seeded Onondaga CC all on Saturday.

The Lady Raiders have had a stellar season. They enter postseason play with an overall record of 21-6, and were crowned Mountain Valley Conference Champions with a record of 10-0.  Head Coach Rachael Salvione's squad has very good balance, and they defend as well as they attack.  Coach Salvione's seven-player rotation all fulfill their roles very well.  FM is preparing both physically and mentally at practice this week and looking to compete for the Regional Title!
