Volleyball Extends its Winning Streak to Eight

The Raiders Volleyball Squad traveled to Corning Community College for POD play and went 3-0 on the day.

In the first match, FM played Corning and won in four sets by scores of 25-18, 22-25, 25-22, and 25-18. Next, the Raiders went three games against TC-3 with scores of 25-17, 25-16, and 25-15. FM won the next match 3-0 against Broome; 25-17, 25-18, and 26-24. 

Jenna Putnam had 44 digs, 21 kills, and 1 block.
Bri Eagan had a season high of 37 kills, 15 blocks, 5 aces and 16 digs.
Miranda Nethaway had 21 kills, and a season high of 18 blocks, with twelve coming against Corning.
Emily Orminski had 23 kills, 13 blocks, 40 assists, 27 digs, and 6 service aces.
Brittany Orminski recorded a career high of 71 digs and 3 aces.
Gabrielle Smith had 60 assists, and 18 digs.
Megan Ryder had 17 kills, 5 blocks, and 45 digs.
Gianna Cruz recorded 11 kills and 1 block.
Ruverlyn Marrero recorded 6 digs and 3 service aces.

Coach Salvione likes the what she sees from her squad.  "We played as a team today. We stayed mentally strong and made very few errors. We are at the top of our game." 

FM is in 1st place in Region III standings and will play Saturday, September 24th at Corning CC.
