The Lady Raiders defeated Mohawk Valley in three sets on Wednesday night with scores of 25-11, 25-18, and 25-18.

In the first set, FM got out to a quick 8-2 lead off of the dominance of Miranda Nethaway. Mohawk Valley was able to score three consecutive points to cut the lead to 18-9. Megan Ryder and Bri Eagan had back to back blocks to push the Raiders ahead 22-9. FM sealed the victory 25-11 off of a bad MV serve
In the second set, the Hawks jumped out to a 5-2 lead, but FM was able to answer. Jenna Putnam put FM in the driver's seat for good and led the rest of the set. Putnam and Nethaway scored the final two points to win 25-18. In the final set, FM dominated early on scoring six straight points. MV bounced back and cut the FM lead to five, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Raiders went on to win their 15th straight wins.
FM is still ranked 6th in the NJCAA National Poll, undefeated in regional play, and moves to 19-1 on the season. Head Coach Rachael Salvione is working on keeping her team focused and prepared for the upcoming postseason. "The team was pumped to play tonight, and kept the intensity and momentum for the entire match. This is the time of the season when we have to work hard to stay sharp and focused. We are gearing up for the last few matches and working hard for the upcoming regional tournament."
FM has a break in their schedule for a much needed rest. Their next match is Wednesday, October 12th when they travel to Herkimer to take on the Generals. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
