Lady Raiders Win Regular Season Finale; Mountain Valley Conference Champions

The Lady Raiders took care of business as usual as they finished out the regular season in dominant fashion.  FM hosted Mohawk Valley's final POD on the season Saturday afternoon.  The day consisted of all Mountain Valley Conference opponents and the Lady Raiders came out undefeated on the day once again.  Coach Salvione's squad are the Mountain Valley Conference Champions and finish the regular season undefeated in the region, which secures the #1 seed heading into the regional tournament.

FM played Hudson Valley in their first match and won 3-0; 25-15, 25-18, & 25-17.  In the second match, FM got the best of Adirondack 35-11, 25-21 & 25-16.  In the final match, the Lady Raiders played North Country again and won 25-8, 25-6, & 25-12.  

The Lady Raiders finish the regular season 24-1.  The one loss back came back on September 3rd in a season opener tournament.  Since then, FM has been unstoppable not losing a single match and undefeated in conference and regional play.  They are still currently ranked #6 in the nation. FM is once again tabbed as conference champions and will look to make some noise in the regional tournament.  

The FM roster has been lighting up the regional and national leader boards.  Bri Eagan is ranked #1 in the region with a .425 hitting percentage and  #7 with 2.72 kills per set.  Brittany Orminski is ranked #7 in the region with 249 total digs and 4.99 per set.  Ruverlyn Marrero is #1 in the region for service aces with .91 per set.  Gabrielle Smith is ranked #6 in the region with 6.72 assists per set.  Jenna Putnam, Megan Ryder, and Emily Orminski are well rounded in the starting rotation and do it all for the Raiders. 

Miranda Nethaway is ranked #1 in the nation with 102 solo blocks.  The team is 2nd in the nation in kills per set, with 11.8 and 2nd in assists with 10.97.  They are strong at the net, currently ranked 1st with 259 blocks, good for 3.76 per set.  They average 19 points per set, ranking them #1 as well.

Salvione's team of all local talent is looking to continue their dominance in the regular season and carry it into the regional tournament which will begin on Saturday October 29th.
