The FM Volleyball squad has spent the last two weeks preparing for the Regional Championship Tournament and on Saturday it will finally become a reality.  FM is the #3 seed heading into the tournament and is eager to bring home a regional title.  The top 8 teams qualify for the regional tournament and are broken into two pools. On Saturday, pool play starts at approximately 11:00 a.m., which is round robin play, playing the best of three for each match. The top two teams from each pool advance and qualify for semi-finals on Sunday, and eventually the championship.

FM will play #6 Broome, #7 Finger Lakes and #2 Onondaga in pool play on Saturday.  The Lady Raiders have been preparing with the drills they have done all year, but now they are harder and faster.

"Our focus is to be mentally strong for regionals this weekend. We are on our second week of practice without competition and that is always a struggle to be prepared for very tough competition. Anyone of these 8 teams can walk away with the title, including us. We are going to practice hard, and keep our focus on the goal we set during pre-season," said Salvione.

The all local roster of seven is excited about regionals and will all play a major role.  Seniors Bri Eagan, Megan Ryder and Gabrielle Smith will look to lead the team to a Regional title, after coming up short in the finals last year.

"I'm Looking to Megan, Gabby, and Bri to keep our team prepared and sharp both physically and mentally. The team is very excited about competing, and is hungry for a win. We have shown we can beat any team this season, as long as we communicate and trust each other," said Salvione.

The Lady Raiders will head to Jamestown CC on Friday where the tournament will be held all weekend.  FM will begin pool play on Saturday vs. Broome CC, at approximately 11:00a.m.
