Olyer Takes Over Volleyball Coaching Reins

Tina Olyer

Tina Olyer will take over the reins as FM's new head volleyball coach after serving as the assistant coach since 2013.  Coach Olyer is a native of Johnstown and received her associates degree in General Studies from FMCC.

Olyer is a former Lady Raiders volleyball player where she played for two years at FM, following a three-year varsity career as a Johnstown Lady Bill.  She brings years of coaching experience and knowledge to the FM volleyball program.

Olyer has a long-standing love of the game. She played on the highly-respected Caroga Lake Volleyball Club for eight years, and currently coaches on the Sacandaga Volleyball Club and just wrapped up her third season.

During her time as an Assistant with the Lady Raiders, she has helped build a winning tradition. The Raiders have posted a 152-35 record since 2013 and have made a statement in the Region 3 Championship Tournament.

"I'm looking forward to the upcoming season. We plan to set the bar as high as we have the last several years and continue to build on the success of the program that Coach Salvione helped create.  Our goal has always been to be a contender for the Mountain Valley Conference and to secure a seed in the regional tournament.  To win regionals and go to the national tournament for the first time will always be a goal and that will be what we continue to strive for," said Olyer.

The Lady Raiders will begin their 2018 season on September 1st when they travel to compete in the Jefferson CC Invitational.
