Volleyball Falls to Herkimer

The Lady Raiders volleyball team fell in their home opener on Wednesday night to Herkimer.  The Generals topped FM 3-0; 25-15, 25-21, and 25-14.

Herkimer jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the first set, but a kill by Olivia Casey and Taylor Denmark ace cut the score to 7-4.  The Generals went on a 5-0 run tp push their lead to 19-10 and FM could not recover falling 25-15.

In the second set, Danika Dygon put FM out front 4-2 and both team went point for point most of the way.  Down the stretch Herkimer got the upper hand 12-14 and never lost the lead again winning 25-21.

In the final match of the night, the Lady Raiders struggled defensively and could not recover from 10 unanswered point from Herkimer. 

Macenzie Ward led FM with 10 kills and 6 digs.  Emily Mormando tallied 15 assists, 5 kills and 2 digs. Taylor Denmark led with 8 digs.

FM will travel to Niagara CC on Sunday, September 15th.  They will play Erie, Niagara and Jamestown.
