The Lady Raiders Volleyball team had a strong showing in POD play on Sunday at Mohawk Valley Community College.  FMCC defeated Onondaga and Cayuga, but fell to Jefferson.

Against Cayuga, FM won 25-22, 25-14 and 25-13.  Macenzie Ward finished with 10 kills and 6 digs.  Olivia Casey tallied 6 kills and 7 digs.  Emily Mormando had 17 assists.

The Lady Raiders topped Onondaga 3-0; 25-15, 25-17, and 25-20.  The Ward and Casey combo combined for 18 kills in the match.  Mormando had 3 blocks and 18 assists.

In the final match, FM struggled to stay focused against Jefferson and lost 25-16, 25-15, and 25-10.

"The team really meshed today and played well for the most part.  For the first and second matches they really stayed focused and worked well together and minimized the errors on our side of the court.  Against Jefferson they struggled mentally and weren't able to get back in their groove. Overall, we were very pleased with the improvements from this past week and will continue to work on the mental aspect of the game," said Coach Olyer.

FM will host Hudson Valley on Tuesday, October 1st in what will be their final home match of the season.  The action will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Raiders Den.
