Volleyball Defeats Hudson Valley in Home Finale

The Lady Raiders Volleyball squad was victorious over Conference foe Hudson Valley on Tuesday evening in the Raiders Den.  FMCC took the match in four sets; 24-26, 30-28, 25-11, and 25-23.

The Vikings stole the first set from The Raiders and that would be it.  FM gained momentum in the second set and came back from a large deficit to gut out a 30-28 team win.  In the third set, FM took the momentum from the second set and dominated to a 25-11 win.  In the final set, Hudson Valley kept it close, but FM secured the match victory.

The Lady Raiders played strong team ball and everyone contributed. Macenzie Ward led with 14 kills and 7 digs.  Olivia Casey finished with 10 kills and 9 digs.  Taylor Denmark had 7 kills, Danika Dygon and Emily Mormando with 6 kills and 26 assists and Mallory Baldwin finished with 3 kills.  FM was strong defensively, tallying 41 digs and 4 blocks in the match.  

On Wednesday, FM bounced back to travel to Mohawk Valley Community College to take on the Hawks.  The Raiders fell in 5 sets; 25-19, 25-23, 25-22, 26-24, 15-7.

Ward led with 16 kills and 12 digs. Dygon had 14 kills and Mormando tallied 29 assists.
