Volleyball Finishes Regular Season Undefeated

The Lady Raiders Volleyball Team hosted the final POD match of the season on Saturday. FMCC defeated both Corning and Broome to finish the regular season with a perfect 19-0 record and Mountain Valley Conference Champions.

FMCC defeated Corning 3-0; 25-5, 25-14 and 25-13. Lindsey Zawisa earned 8 kills and 8 digs. Grace O'Brien tallied 11 kills and 4 digs. Jenna Greenwald and Alaina Diffee each had a block apiece. The offense ran through Amber Cole who had 25 assists.

In the second match, the Broome Hornets would give The Lady Raiders one of their toughest matches of the season. Despite facing some adversity, FMCC dug deep to secure a 3-1 victory. Jayden Devellis was all over the floor in the match with 20 digs and Zawisa followed with 17. Teianna Vetrano-Frasier had 5 kills to go along with 6 digs. Cole recorded 7 digs and 28 assists.

The Volleyball team finishes regular season play undefeated. They have only lost 5 sets the entire season and head into post-season play as the #1 seed. The Region III Tournament will begin on October 28th at Niagara Community College.

FMCC will host the Mountain Valley Conference tournament on Saturday, October 21st at 10:00 a.m.
