Volleyball Begins their quest for a National Title on Thursday.

The Fulton Montgomery Women's Volleyball team was selected as the #5 seed in the 2023 NJCAA DIII National Championship Tournament. They are making the trip back to the National Tournament for the second season in a row, this time in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

The Raiders will take on the #12 Alexandria Tech Legends out of Alexandria, Minnesota in the first round. The match will be played at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse Arena on Thursday, November 9th at 4:00 p.m. EST.

Alexandria Tech finished the regular season with an 18-6 record. They won the Region 13B Title against Minnesota State Community and Technical College, 3-1.

The Lady Raiders are riding a 23-0 perfect record and have dropped just 6 sets on the entire season. This will be the second trip to the National Tournament for Head Coach Tina Olyer, but the first time for the entirely new roster, filled with local talent.

"The team is very proud of making it to the national championship. They continue to focus on staying mentally strong and letting go of mistakes quickly, so it does not impact the momentum of the game. They continue to mesh well together on the court and are focused on taking the tournament one match at a time which is how we have played all season. We know we will see some extremely competitive volleyball this week and the team is ready to go all out and leave it all on the court," said Olyer.
