Grace O'Brien Selected as NJCAA Second Team All-American

Grace O'Brien has earned another award to finish out her incredible freshman volleyball season. This time, at the national level. O'Brien has been selected as a 2023 Second Team NJCAA Division III Volleyball All-American.

Grace helped lead the 2023 volleyball squad to a prolific season. She joins 11 other athletes across the nation as a second team All-American recipient. The Lady Raiders competed at the NJCAA Championship Tournament, won the Region 3 District A Title, Mountain Valley Conference Title and finished with a 24-2 overall record.

NJCAA DIII All-America Teams

She ended the season with 261 kills, 36 service aces, 146 digs, and 25 blocks. On top of the second team All-American, Grace earned 2023 1st team Mountain Valley All-Conference, and 1st team All-Region.

"Grace is a leader on the team, always gives 100%, and can always be counted on when needed. Grace has an incredible amount of focus and discipline in all aspects of the game and never gives up, always remaining calm under pressure-she rarely gets rattled. Grace is able to help the team stay focused on our goals. She always works hard on being as consistent as possible in all aspects of the game and her teammates look to her for her leadership. Grace ranked 1st in the region in total number of kills and total attacks and 2nd in the region in kills per set. We are incredibly proud of Grace for her accomplishments this season and are excited to see what next season brings," said Coach Olyer.
