FMCC seeks $2.5 million to improve the outdoor athletic fields. The field upgrades will enable FM to improve student recruitment, satisfaction, and retention. Enhancing athletics also stands to bring new streams of revenue into the community as FM will be equipped to host collegiate tournaments and bring visitors in from across the state. FM will also broaden its community impact by making these fields available for local youth tournaments and camps.

"We have decided on a multi-use turf complex that will have the ability to host softball, baseball and soccer. Lighting will also be part of the project to give a lot of flexibility with game start times. With northeast weather being very unpredictable in spring, this will allow teams to start earlier in the season. The turf will give them the ability to play instead of unplayable field conditions of a traditional non-turf field.  This complex will be a massive change for the FMCC Athletic department," said Director of Athletics, Kevin Jones.
