Athletics Overview

 

Fulton-Montgomery Community College has a long and rich history of athletic competition. FM offers intercollegiate athletic opportunities for male and female athletes in the fall, winter, and spring seasons.

FM is a Division III member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The Raiders compete in the Mountain Valley Conference, which consists of nine junior colleges located in eastern New York.  The eight other conference members are Adirondack, Clinton, Columbia-Greene, Herkimer, Hudson Valley, Mohawk Valley, North Country, and Schenectady.

The Mountain Valley Conference and two other conferences (one in the middle and another in the western part of New York State) make up the NJCAA’s Region 3.

The athletic program has thrived since FM was founded, in 1963.  The Raiders have won 32 Mountain Valley Conference championships (most recently the 2022-23 women's volleyball and basketball conference championship) and ten Region 3 championships. Further, the 2022-23 women's volleyball team, women's basketball team and men's basketball team were ar Region 3 Champions. FM has also had NJCAA national tournament appearances by the basketball programs and volleyball program in 22-23.
