Joe Gander has been selected as the next coach for the FMCC Soccer Program.

Joe Gander has been selected as the new head coach for the Men's and Women's Soccer programs. Gander is a recent graduate of FM and alumni of the men's soccer team and will take over the coaching reins for the upcoming season.

"We are excited to have Joe Gander running our soccer programs. He is a young energetic coach, with a great work ethic and he has hit the ground running with recruiting. I look forward to supporting Coach Gander and his staff to keep FMCC Soccer relevant in Region III," said Athletic Director Kevin Jones.

Gander is a native of Eastbourne, England and graduated from Lewes FC Academy in 2019. He played soccer for the Uckfield United Football Club in England as a Goalkeeper where he was a golden glove winner, division champion (21-22) and second team all-conference selection.

During his time as a player at FM, Joe stood out as a true leader. He started nine games in the net for the Raiders in the 2023 season and tallied 36 saves. Gander helped lead his team to an impressive 10-3 finish.

The 2024 soccer season is just around the corner when both the women's and men's teams open up at home against SUNY Adirondack on Wednesday, August 28th

"I'm excited to get started with both teams and help build this program to the heights I know it can reach. Coaching has always been a passion of mine and hopefully I can show that passion in how the teams perform and get the results. I think with the new players we have coming in and returning, we can really do that and really continue to make a name for ourselves in the Region," said Gander.
