Stephanie Rice is the female Raider of the Month for February. The sophomore standout had a great month on the hardwood and was the Lady Raiders’ team leader for the season in multiple categories.
Offensively, Rice was a scoring threat from anywhere. She was the team's most accurate three-point shooter. She also had an accurate jump shot inside the arc, could drive through the paint, could score from close in with either hand, and turned rebounds into baskets with putbacks, reverses, and hook shots.
Rice was named to the Mountain Valley Conference First Team All-Conference, and to the Region 3 Second Team All-Region. She led the Lady Raiders in points per game (16.7), rebounds per game (11.1), and three-point shooting percentage (39.5). Rice was also a consummate team player, adept at starting fast breaks with outlet passes and finding an open teammate in the offensive zone.
Stephanie Rice’s FM basketball career has come to a close, but her career in FM athletics has not. Last season she was also the starting shortstop on the softball team, and she is expected to play that same role in the 2015 softball season.
