
The FMCC baseball team rounded out a four-game series with the Broome Hornets this week. The Raiders went 3-1 in the series and erupted for 42 runs over the four-game set.
On Tuesday, at Broome Community College, the Raiders took the first game, 8-5. Po Ting Lin got the win on the mound giving up just 4 hits and 1 run. Cheng En Cai led with 2 doubles and 4 RBI's. Soichiro Hanawa and Yejune Lee each collected two hits in the victory.
In the second game of the road doubleheader, FM fell in the final inning, 6-5. The Raiders scattered 11 hits in the loss. Lee led with 2 hits and 3 RBI's.
On Friday, FM hosted Broome at home. The Raiders defeated Broome the first game, 14-8. Huai En Kao drove in four runs on three hits. In the fifth inning, Kao hit a grand slam to left field.
Huai En Kao earned the win for FM. He gave up nine hits and seven runs over seven innings, striking out two and walking five. The Raiders collected 16 hits in the game. Brendan O'Connell and Soichiro Hanawa each collected three hits.
In game two, it was all Raiders as they defeated Broome 15-5 in six innings. Yejune Lee drove in four runs on two hits, including a home run to lead FM. Huai En Kao, Po Ting Lin, KJ Constantino, Tyler Safran and Cheng En Cai each collected multiple hits.
Connor Bentley had a strong and efficient start for the Raiders. He gave up just 6 hits, 3 earned runs and collected 7 strikeouts.
FM is back in action on Sunday, April 6th. They will host the Herkimer Generals at Shuttleworth Park with first pitch action beginning at 12pm.
