2019 Men's Soccer Preview

After coming off a successful 7-6-1 record last season and a regional tournament berth, the FM Men's soccer team has spent the last two weeks preparing for its upcoming 2019 season.  The 17 man roster has plenty of new faces and Coach Leggiero's squad is eager for the season to start.

"We have had some solid effort in practices and the boys have worked hard each and every day.  It has helped that many players worked hard in the off-season so we can spend more time on technical work," said Leggiero.

The Raiders return just two players from the 2018 team in Patrick Palmer and Jean Horacius and will rely heavily on the newcomers.

"We will rely heavily on Pat and Jean's leadership and knowledge. With most of the team as new comers, we expect them all to step right in with little to no learning curve."

The FM squad looks to finish out their pre-season focusing on working well as a team both on and off the field.

Coach Leggiero, who is in his fifth season at the helm, is excited for the season to start.  "Our goals are very similar to last season, score one more goal and concede one less goal than last year.  We return just two players, which gives a lot of room for our freshman to step up," said Leggiero.

The 2019 soccer season will begin on Tuesday, August 27th on the road against Bryant and Stratton. The Raiders will host Onondaga on August 31st at 1:00 p.m. at FMCC.
