The FMCC Men's Soccer team opened up their 2019 season on Tuesday night against Bryant and Stratton College.  The Raiders got off to a slow start and the Bobcats took advantage 20 minutes into the contest with a goal off of a direct kick just out of the reach of FM goalkeeper Jason Meneses.

The goal seemed to wake up the FM team as they started some attacks of their own including a deep shot from midfielder Kevin Vargas that hit the bottom of the crossbar and bounced straight down only to be grabbed by Bryant and Stratton's goalkeeper.

The FM Raiders continued their push in the second half and broke through twenty minutes in off of a Patrick Palmer direct kick outside the box that hit the inside of the goal post and careened to the back of the net.  The Raiders continued to push forward but unable to break through the consistent defense and aggressive goalkeeper from Bryant and Stratton.

With just 15 minutes left in the game, Bryant and Stratton sent a deep free kick into the box that FM goalkeeper came out to make the initial catch, but pounced on by an attacking forward to score the go ahead goal with his head.  The Raiders pushed hard in the final minutes with a few close chances only to be stopped by the Bryant and Stratton defense.

The FMCC Raiders open up Region 3 play on Saturday, August 31st when they host The Onondaga Lazers at 1:00 p.m.
