The Raiders Soccer team hosted the nationally ranked 9-1 Mohawk Valley Hawks on Wednesday. FMCC gave a strong fight, but dropped the match 2-0.
The Hawks scored first in the 22nd minute as the Hawks got behind the FM defense and crossed the ball across the box for a score. Shortly after in the 29th minute, Mohawk Valley would strike again to lead 2-0 heading into the half.
The FM defense held the high powered MVCC offense scoreless in the second half. Jason Meneses finished with 9 saves in the net for The Raiders, as the hawks took 24 shots, with 11 on goal. The Raider offense, took 7 shots in the contest, with four of them at MVCC goalkeeper Stuart Boller.
The Raiders move to 2-2 in conference play. They hope to stop a three game skid when the host Brookdale Community College on Sunday, September 29th at 1:00 p.m.
