Men's Soccer Cruises to 4-0 Win In Home Opener

After a 5-1 victory over Ulster Community College in their season opener on Thursday, the FMCC Men's Soccer team was ready for their home opener. The Raiders hosted Hudson Valley Community College and dominated the match for a 4-0 victory.

FM got out to a quick 2-0 lead. In the 10th minute, Roberto Salinas Juarez assisted to Rasheed Willis, who sent a ball just out of the reach of the Viking Goalkeeper, Jonas Clapper. In the 17th minute, Roberto Salinas Juarez found the back of the net from a Rasheed Willis assist.

In the second half, FMCC continued to win every ball and control the tempo of the contest. Alex Aguirre broke through the middle of the field in the 78th minute and scored the third goal of the game. With just twelve seconds remaining, Oluwadunsin Ibikunle scored to wrap up an impressive 4-0 win.

Jose Atilio de Oliveira was stellar in the net for FMCC, earning the shutout, with nine saves.

The Raiders will be back in action on Monday, September 13th. FMCC will host the Herkimer Generals at 4:00 p.m.
