Men's Soccer Edges Jamestown, 3-2

The men's soccer team rallied in the second half for a 3-2 win over Jamestown Community College on Saturday. The Raiders now improve to a 5-2 record and sit in 6th place in the Region 3 standings.

The Jayhawks edged the Raiders in the first half with a goal in the final minute of the first half to lead 1-0 at the break.

In the 55th minute, Marvin Koceku took a free kick after a foul outside of the box. His shot hit the cross bar and rebounded to the foot of Kyrise Frontin who found the back of the net for a 1-1 tie.

In the 66th minute, Jamestown regained the lead as Craig Mthembu lofted a kick over Joseph Gander who had come out of the net.

Within the next six minutes, the Raiders clawed back to score two more goals. Yarin Erez scored first and was quickly followed with a score by Christian Davies. Jamestown had a shot on goal in the final seconds, but Gander made an impressive save to secure the 3-2 win.

Koceku tallied 3 assists and Seedy Ndow and Lewis Potter-Scarborough each had an assist.

The Raiders will be back in action on Saturday, October 7th when they host Onondaga Community College at 3 p.m.
