#4 Corning Wins Two from Lady Raiders

JOHNSTOWN – The Lady Raiders hosted Corning CC on Sunday afternoon. Corning is currently ranked #4 in the region in the weekly coaches poll. There are 20 community college softball teams in Region 3, and Corning is among the best of them. The visitors won the first game 13-1 and won the second contest 10-6.

FM's bright spots for the day included the continued strong hitting of catcher Ashley Przybylowicz and shortstop Stephanie Rice. Przybylowicz is currently leading the Lady Raiders with a .389 batting average (14 for 36), and Rice has now moved up to join the .300 club. Rice's batting average is .306 (11 for 36).

The team will have another challenging day on Tuesday, when the Lady Raiders are to host the #1-ranked Lady Generals of Herkimer CCC. Herkimer is currently 18-0 in Region 3 competition. Tuesday's play is to begin at 3:00 p.m.

FM's busy week will continue on Wednesday when they travel to Queensbury to meet SUNY Adirondack. Adirondack's record is 4-6.
