Softball Ends Season with Win Against Clinton

The Lady Raiders softball squad ended their 2016 season with a win against Clinton Community College.  FM lost a tight game one 3-2 and came back to win the 2nd game 8-1.

The first game was a pitching contest as neither team could string hits together.  FM scored both of their runs in the 1st inning when Katie Hauser singled, stole 2nd and scored on an Abby Boyer single. Boyer scored off of a single from Amber Richardson-Iannotti to go up 2-0.

Katie Hauser pitched a great game in the cirlce, but it wasn't enough as Clinton broke through in the 5th and 6th innings for 7 hits.  They scored 2 runs in the 5th and the game winning run in the 6th. Abby Boyer led the Raiders with 2 hits and and RBI.

In game 2 the Raiders offense finally broke through.  FM scored every inning, but the 3rd to push across 8 runs.  Megan Patterson has two singles and 4 RBI's and Richardson-Iannotti had a single and a double.  Emily Towne, Katie Hauser, Boyer, Sabriana Franck, and Becca Pike each had hits for FM.

Clinton would score just one run in the game in the 4th inning.  Emily Towne got the win for FM in the circle allowing just 2 hits and walking 3.

FM's season comes to an end as they finish 5-17.  "I am very proud of the girls and the way they competed and finished out the season with a win.  Best of luck to all of our seniors," said Coach Power.
