The Panthers got on the board in the first inning, but FM answered with a run of their own when Towne scored off of an RBI single by Abby Boyer.  Tompkins Cortland scored again in the 3rd inning, but FM answered in the 4th when Boyer scored.  Towne would settle in and hold the Panthers scoreless for the rest of the game.  FM came up to bat in the bottom of the 7th with the game tied at 2.  Becca Pike stepped up and battled for a walk and reached second base on a passed ball.  Emily Towne hit a hard ground ball to the short stop who threw it out of play to score Pike for the game winning run.

Emily Towne was fantastic in the circle striking out 10, giving up just 5 hits and walking just one runner.  Boyer had two singles, Amber Richardson-Iannotti had a single, and Ashley Garcia had two hits for FM.

In game two the FM offense came alive and combined for ten hits.  Towne took care of business in the circle allowing no runs and going 3-4 at the plate.  FM scored 4 runs in the 1st inning off a double from Boyer and an RBI single from Megan Patterson.  Sabriana Franck also scored Richardson-Iannotti to set the score at 4-0.   FM would add another run in the 3rd and 4th innings.  Katie Hauser had her second sac bunt of the day in the 6th to move over Towne and Patterson would bring her home and set the score at 8-0.  Hauser stepped into the circle in the 6th and got out of a bases loaded jam and striking out the final batter.

"I am very proud with the way we played today, we really needed these wins.  Emily Towne pitched a phenominal couple of games and the offense fed off of her.  If we can play defense the way we did today, I think we can keep ourselves in many games moving forward," said Coach Power.

FM's next contest will be Thursday when they travel to play Hudson Valley Community College.
