Softball Defeated by Corning

The Lady Raiders dropped a double header with the Corning Red Barons on Sunday afternoon.  The Red Barons secured the sweep over the Lady Raiders 22-1 and 12-3.

In Game 1, Corning pounded out 21 hits and jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the 1st inning and blew the game open with a 10 run 4th inning.  Megan Patterson scored the only run for FM off of an RBI double by Miranda NethawayBraelin Aldi had the only other hit for the Lady Raiders.

In Game 2, Emily Towne was able to keep the Corning offense at bay.  The Red Barons scored 12 runs over the first three innings to defeat the Raiders 12-3.  The FM bats came alive in the 4th inning and the Raiders scored 3 runs.  Emily Towne singled and Megan Patterson was hit by a pitch.  Miranda Nethaway drilled another double, scoring Towne.  Gabrielle Smith then hit a single scoring Patterson and Morgan Wilson reached on an error, scoring Nethaway.  Braelin Aldi also had another single to help the FM offense.

FM's next double header will be April 27th then they host the Herkimer Generals.
