Softball Finishes Season Against Columbia-Greene

2017 Women's Softball Team

The FM softball team's 2017 season came to an end with a double header against Columbia-Greene CC.  The Lady Raiders lost both contests 5-1 and 8-0.

In game one, Emily Towne scored the only run in the 1st inning for FM off of a Miranda Nethaway RBI.  The Twins scored one run in the 3rd and 4th innings to take the lead 3-1.  FM was unable to get anything going offensively and the Twins took the lead for good with a three run 6th inning. 

Towne, Nethaway and Allysa Gelina each had a hit for FM.  Towne took the loss in the circle, allowing eight hits, four runs and striking out two. 

FM dropped game two, 8-0 in five innings.  The Twins wasted no time and jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the 1st inning.  The Raiders had their best chance to score in the 4th inning, but couldn't push a run across.  Miranda Nethaway led FM going 2-for-2 at the plate.  Megan Patterson and Allysa Gelina each had one hit. 

The Lady Raiders finished the season with two wins against Cayuga and Jefferson.  Julie Hampton led the team this season with a .434 batting average and also scored a team high 14 runs.  Gabrielle Smith followed with a .372 average and Miranda Nethaway led the team with 4 RBIs and a .370 batting average.
