The FM women's basketball team is coming off an 18-7 season and Region III quarterfinal appearance last year and has high hopes for the 2017-2018 season.

The Lady Raiders will look to returners Julie Hampton and Zaria Crawford to make big contributions right away.  Sophomore McKeia Weekes will also make a big impact in the paint when she returns from an injury in the second half of the season.

FM brings in a lot of new faces to the roster.  Diasia DeBoue, Asia Cruz and Shaun Smith will contribute at the guard position.  Shelby Dopp, Lexi Williams, Dasha Stubbs and Raina Danylak will all see crucial time at the forward position.

"We have a lot of new faces and will continue to grow as the year goes on.  We have been putting in offenses and determining what defenses will work best for us.  Our guard play will be our strength this season and the chemistry on the team has been great.  We lost a large number of sophomores and at our level that can sometimes be hard to replace, but we hope to be in the regional mix and compete every night," said Head Coach Kevin Jones.

The Lady Raiders will begin their season on Sunday, November 5th when they travel to Tompkins Cortland.  FM will open up at home on Saturday, November 11th against Onondaga at 1:00 p.m.
