The women's basketball team fell to the Herkimer Generals in the Region 3 Quarterfinal on Tuesday night. FMCC fell in the contest 50-45.
Hasijna Gaddy put the Lady Raiders ahead 11-10 after the first quarter. Kendra Lavery sank two free throws and extended the lead to 13-10 to start the second quarter. Herkimer went on a 9-2 run to close out the half leading 25-19.
Niaimani Marshall got FM to within seven with 1:30 left in the third quarter. Herkimer was able to keep the Raider offense at bay and led 41-33 heading into the final quarter.
Destiny Prather converted on a lay-up and had crucial rebounds to pull within 8 points; 43-35. Marshall put the team on her back in the final minutes and scored the rest of the Lady Raiders points.
She converted on a step back three to cut the deficit 45-42 with 2:36 to play. Marshall drained another three, in the final seconds of the contest, but it wasn't enough as FM's season came to a close.
Niaimani Marshall led with 22 points in her final game. Gaddy followed with 9 points from FM.
The Lady Raiders finish their season with a 13-11 record.
