The Women's Basketball team continued their regular season dominance and defeated Hudson Valley on Monday night. The Lady Raiders improve to 17-0 on the season and are the 2023 Mountain Valley Conference Champions.
FMCC wasted no time on Monday night and opened the game on an 8-0 run. Mackenzie Smith and Andie Gannon paced their squad in the 1st quarter and led, 29-12 after the first 8 minutes.
The FM defense held The Vikings to just 10, 2nd quarter points. Kiya Marquez closed out the quarter with five straight points and The Lady Raiders led 46-22 at the half.
It was all FMCC in the second half as they ran past Hudson Valley for an 84-53 victory.
"It was a great team win for us. The team has been playing well together all season and this is a testament to their hard work. We look forward to the road ahead with the upcoming regionals," stated Head Coach Kevin Jones.
Marquez led with 25 points, 10 rebounds, 5 steals and 5 assists. Makenzie Smith had 18 points and 11 rebounds and Andie Gannon with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Abigail Lombardoni rounded out double-figure scoring with 11 points and Sarah Emanuel-Norwood dished out 7 assists.
The Lady Raiders will close out regular season play tonight on the road. They will travel to take on the Onondaga Lazers at 6:00 p.m.
