The Women's Basketball team defeated Division II Jamestown Community College on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Raiders hosted the Jayhawks in their 2023 season opener and came out on top with an 80-48 victory.
FMCC shot 51.7% from the field and held the Jayhawks to just 6 points in the first quarter to spark a 22-6 lead in the first quarter.
The Lady Raiders had four starters score in double figures. Andie Gannon led with a 21-point, 20 rebound and 6 steal double-double. Makenzie Smith followed with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Freshman, Sharon Diallo followed with 16 points and Freshman point guard, Sereena Palau had an impressive debut with 12 points, 8 assists, and 3 steals.
FMCC will be back in action on Tuesday, November 7th when they travel to take on the Hudson Valley Vikings at 5:00 p.m.
