Lady Raiders Suffer Home Loss To Jefferson

The women's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season on Tuesday night. The Lady Raiders hosted The Jefferson Cannoneers in a Region 3 match-up.

Jefferson jumped out to a 17-14 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Andie Gannon and Abigail Lombardoni sparked an 8-0 run to tie the game, 23-23 with 6 minutes left in the half. Makenzie Smith and Gannon helped close out the half leading 35-34.

FMCC dominated the 3rd quarter outscoring Jefferson, 20-11 to take a 55-45 lead heading into the final quarter.

In the 4th quarter, The Lady Raiders extended their lead to 18 points and dominated on the glass. Over the final five minutes of the game, The Cannoneers went on a 17-3 run to close out regulation on a buzzer beater three pointer at the top of the key and force the game into overtime.

The Lady Raiders could not find their groove in the extra period and suffered the 91-84 loss.

Andie Gannon dominated with a 34 point and 20 rebound game. Makenzie Smith tallied 16 points to go with 10 rebounds and Abigail Lombardoni collected 16 points.  

FMCC will travel to take on Conference Foe, Mohawk Valley on Saturday, November 18th at 1:00 p.m.
