Women's Basketball Wins 5th Straight

The Women's Basketball team hosted the Mohawk Valley Hawks on Wednesday night. After suffering an early season loss to the Hawks, The Lady Raiders bounced back for a dominating victory at home, 75-37.

FMCC jumped out of the gates on an 8-0 run and finished the first quarter leading, 16-9. Abigail Lombardoni sparked an 11-0 run in the second quarter and The Lady Raiders were tenacious on the defensive end, holding the Hawks to just 9, second quarter points. FMCC closed out the half with a 42-18 lead.

The second half was all Raiders as they dominated the offensive glass and held MVCC to its lowest scoring output of the season and secured their fifth straight win.

"This was a great team win against MVCC in preparation for some key regional matchups. We needed this win and have to keep playing well and improving as we approach the post-season. Solid contributions from alot of players tonight," stated Head Coach Kevin Jones.    

Andie Gannon continued to dominate with 28 points and 19 rebounds. Lombardoni tallied 16 points and Makenzie Smith added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks.

The Raiders will travel to Jefferson Community College on Saturday, January 27th at 1pm. They will host Tompkins Cortland on Sunday at 1pm.
