Lady Raiders Defeat Genesee and Corning

The women's basketball team extended their winning streak to four games over the weekend. The Lady Raiders hosted Genesee at home on Saturday and traveled to Corning Community College on Sunday. 

The Lady Raiders jumped out to a 22-5 lead in the first quarter behind 10 points from Abigail Lombardoni. In the second quarter, it was all Andie Gannon as she dropped 13 2nd quarter points and FMCC led 39-15 at the half.

FM did not let up in the second half, as they cruised to a 78-28 victory.

Gannon led with 29 points and 11 rebounds and Lombardoni followed with 23 and 10 rebounds. Makenzie smith rounded out double-figure scoring with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

On Sunday, they made the long road trip to Corning Community College. The Lady Raiders came out with a tenacious defensive effort holding its opponent to the lowest scoring output of the season with just 24 points.

Gannon led again with 28 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists in the 60-24 win. Makenzie Smith finished with 24 points, 16 rebounds and 6 blocks.

The Lady Raiders have a 13-4 record and have four regular season games remaining. They will be back in action at home on Monday, February 12th when they host Hudson Valley at 5:00 p.m.
