Women's Basketball Wins on Sophomore Day

After coming off an 81-46 victory over Cayuga on Saturday, The Lady Raiders would host Dutchess Community College on Sunday. Sophomores, Andie Gannon, Makenzie Smith and Abigail Lombardoni were recognized prior to the contest.

FMCC jumped out to a 21-19 lead after the 1st quarter. Lombardoni opened the 2nd quarter with a three pointer and Andie Gannon followed with six points in the quarter for a 39-30 lead at the half.

In the 3rd quarter, The Falcons took the lead, 49-48. FM answered as they pulled out a full court press and forced Dutchess turnovers. The Lady Raiders closed out the quarter on an 11-0 run to lead, 59-49.

In the final quarter, it was all FMCC as they outscored The Falcons, 31-18 in route to victory.

Abigail Lombardoni finished with 35 points, including 9-three pointers. Andie Gannon followed with 29 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Quincy Lake had 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Makenzie Smith scored 8 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

FMCC improves to 16-4 overall. The Lady Raiders will finish Regular Season play on Wednesday, February 21st. They will travel to take on Herkimer at 5:00 p.m.
