The women's basketball team is gearing up for the 24-25 season. FMCC is coming off a strong 23-24 season where they finished 17-6. The Lady Raiders lost three key local stars in Andie Gannon, Abigail Lombardoni and Makenzie Smith from that roster.

FMCC returns just four players from last year's squad in Quincy Lake, Kim Lopez, Mekia Comrie and Ciara Thompson.

The Lady Raiders will feature six freshman that hope to make a big impact: Angelina Deitz (Gibbons), JaMiya Smith (Florida), Shiasia Williams (Gloversville), Liana Brown (Amsterdam), Nataynia McLeod (Connecticut) and Mianna Jackson (Albany Academy).

"Practices have been going well, very competitive and everyone is working hard. We have been working hard on team chemistry, defense and individual skill work," said Head Coach Kevin Jones.

The Lady Raiders will begin their season on Friday, November 1st at home. They will host Kingsborough Community College at 5pm. They will begin Region 3 play on November 17th at Corning.

"We have good guard play and a few kids inside that are doing a great job. We want to be in the mix to make regionals and compete every night. We lost a big chunk from last year, so it is going to be a marathon not a sprint," stated Jones.
