Women's Soccer Wins in Overtime

The Lady Raiders Women's soccer team opened up their 2022 season on Wednesday. FMCC hosted SUNY Adirondack in a conference match-up. The Lady Raiders came out on top in overtime, 4-3.

The Timberwolves jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half. Aashika Govindasamay got possession off of a corner kick rebound and sent it into the box for Victoriah Adams who foud the back of the net to tie it, 1-1. In the 37th minute, Govindasamay took a penalty and sent it over the head of the keeper for a 2-1 lead. Asheeka scored again to close out the half.

In the second half, Adirondack was able to tie it up 3-3. Five minutes into the over time, Brooke Dutcher took a shot from 20 yards out to seal the 4-3 victory.

FMCC moves to 1-0 on the season. The Lady Raiders will travel to Albany College of Pharmacy on September 8th for a 7pm non-league game.
