The Fulton Montgomery Women's Volleyball team was selected as the #7 seed in the 2024 NJCAA DIII National Championship Tournament. They are making the trip back to the National Tournament for the third season in a row. The tournament will take place at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Raiders will take on the #10 Dallas North Lake Blazers out of Irving, Texas in the first round. The match will be played on Thursday, November 14th at 12:00 p.m. EST.
Dallas North Lake finished the regular season with a 19-17 record and secured an at-large bid to the tournament.
The Lady Raiders are riding a 21-1 record and have won 18 straight matches. All 21 of their wins have come in straight sets. This will be the third trip to the National Tournament for Head Coach Tina Olyer and back-to-back trip for sophomores; Alaina Diffee, Grace O'Brien, Amber Cole and Jayden DeVellis.
"The team is very proud of making it to the national championship 3 consecutive seasons. They continue to focus on staying mentally strong and letting go of mistake's quickly, so it doesn't impact the momentum of the game. They continue to mesh well together on the court and are focused on staying aggressive and taking the tournament one match at a time which is how we have played all season. We know we will see some extremely competitive volleyball this week and the team is ready to go all out and leave it all on the court," said Olyer.
